Preus Museum is located in Magasin A in idyllic Karljohansvern in Horten, an hour?s drive from Oslo. The museum building, which previously housed a grain store for the Royal Norwegian Navy, dates back to the 1860s and was adapted for the museum by architect Sverre Fehn. Kulturparken Karljohansvern hosts several cultural institutions, a guest harbour, a beach as well as wonderful recreational areas. Public transportation by train to Holmestrand or Skoppum and bus to Horten, or by train to Moss and ferry to Horten.
